Closing gaps with composite bonding in Cork
Composite bonding can close small gaps between front teeth by building the teeth out at the sides. In Cork, White Smile Dental prices this as partial bonding at €200 a tooth, and a gap usually has a tooth on each side.
How bonding closes a gap
The dentist adds tooth-coloured resin to the sides of the teeth next to the gap, shapes it and polishes it, so the teeth meet. Winning Smile describes little to no removal of enamel for bonding (Winning Smile).
What it costs in Cork
White Smile Dental is the only Cork clinic that names gap closure in its prices: partial bonding, €200 a tooth (White Smile Dental). The other Cork clinics publish a per-tooth range for bonding or composite veneers, from €150 to €700. Since a gap has a tooth on each side, a quote can cover one tooth or two, so ask.
What it would cost you
€400 to €600
2 teeth of full bonding at the middle of 10 published prices (Cork). Lowest published start: €150 a tooth at Ballincollig Dental Practice.
How this is worked out
We take every Cork clinic that publishes a per-tooth price, then use the middle (median) of their lowest prices and the middle of their highest prices, times the number of teeth. Where a clinic gives one price, that price counts as both. Edge bonding uses the 2 clinics that price it separately. It is an estimate from published prices, not a quote: your dentist sets the price after looking at your teeth.
Questions to ask at the consultation
- How many teeth will you add resin to, and what does each cost?
- Is bonding enough for my gap, or would braces or aligners suit better?
- Should I whiten first? Resin keeps the shade it was made in (bonding or whitening).

Questions
Questions people ask
Can composite bonding close a gap between front teeth?
Often, for small gaps. Winning Smile in Carrigaline lists closing gaps among the uses of composite bonding (Winning Smile), and White Smile Dental prices "gap closure" as partial bonding (White Smile Dental). Whether it suits your gap is a dentist's call.
How much does it cost to close a gap with bonding in Cork?
Clinics price per tooth, and a gap sits between two teeth. White Smile Dental lists partial bonding, which it describes as covering specific areas and closing gaps, at €200 a tooth. At Cork's middle starting price of €200 a tooth, two teeth come to about €400. Ask whether a quote is for one tooth or both.
Is bonding or braces better for gaps?
They do different things: bonding adds resin to the teeth and does not move them, while orthodontic treatment moves the teeth. Winning Smile lists orthodontic treatment among the alternatives to bonding (Winning Smile). A dentist can tell you which suits your bite.
